Purpose of the Role and Scope of Responsibility: Prepares for and teaches automotive collision repair courses and conducts labs as assigned by the department chair of the Automotive Collision Repair department. Additional responsibilities include maintaining College-owned vehicles to ensure appropriate operation, reliability, and safety.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Teaches assigned theory and lab classes. Plans daily activities for students in theory and lab. Supervises students for both theory and technical project grades.
  2. Instructs and evaluates students in a live work setting who are performing general services and repairs on automobiles, to include instruction in shop safety.
  3. Maintains a safe worksite and enforces Ranken’s safety standards.
  4. Teaching duties include refinishing, structural repair, nonstructural repair, mechanical collision repair, and work ethic.
  5. Is an active I-CAR instructor for live instruction or hands-on evaluations.
  6. Assists in the maintenance of ACR lab and classroom equipment.
  7. Assists management with developing curriculum and syllabi, budgeting, scheduling, hiring, and other duties.
  8. Participates in college governance, committee work, student advising, etc.
  9. Participates in available training to keep current in automotive collision repair technology.
  10. Conducts fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are met.
  11. Manages effective utilization of vehicle assets.
  12. Prepares and directs in-service training programs for existing and newly-employed personnel.
  13. Plans and administers a preventive maintenance and vehicular replacement program for College-owned vehicles.
  14. Receives and processes vehicle accident and damage reports.
  15. Prepares cost analysis and periodic management and operational reports.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned by authorized individual.
  17. Other duties as determined by the education administrator. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge/Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in automotive collision repair technology from a regionally accredited institution and three years of experience in automotive collision repair.
    • Technical faculty not possessing a bachelor’s degree in the field shall meet the following criteria:
      • A bachelor’s degree with the industry certifications to teach the identified technical courses.
        OR
  • An associate degree in the related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Five years of work experience in the industry OR combination of additional work experience in the industry with industry certifications.
    OR
  • A certificate in the related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Seven years of work experience in the industry OR combination of additional work experience in the industry with industry certifications.
    OR
  • Ten years of work experience in the industry OR combination of additional work experience in the industry with industry certifications.
  • I-CAR Platinum Individual in one or more of the PHP roles.

  • Assists in preparing and maintaining all paperwork and permits for city, state, and federal governments.
  • Serves as primary OSHA compliance contact.
  • Assists in managing department efficiency and work load delegation
  • Oversees and schedules all state and federal facility inspections and associated requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge/Education- Required: High School diploma or GED; Preferred: Associate degree or technical school certification.  Experience – Required: 5 years of hands-on experience in maintenance department or facility project management;  preferred experience:  Experience supervising maintenance staff preferably in an educational institute, experience in project coordinating is a plus

Job Purpose: Under general direction, consults with automotive department chairs and automotive service managers to anticipate and meet the evolving technician demand of the dealership service centers. Visits high schools and technical centers to implement the recruiting strategy and enroll the best qualified candidates into the automotive program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with all stakeholders to develop and implement the recruiting strategy for the program.
  • Recruits in assigned territory. Travels throughout a 300-mile radius from the College. Schedule includes an average weekly travel of four days on visits and one day in-house doing research, enrollment management, and reporting.
  • Gives presentations and meets with potential students to assess their educational needs and job skills, provide information, and answer questions.
  • Track recruitment and admissions activity, maintain accurate records of prospective student interactions
  • Develops and maintains relationships with automotive dealership personnel/managers.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with high school counselors and instructors to schedule visits and make presentations.
  • Tracks and reports key metrics designed to measure and drive recruitment activity.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of all programs offered by the college—not just Automotive—to ensure every prospective student is guided toward the path that best aligns with their goals and potential.
  • Collaborate closely with the Automotive Inside Counselor and Manufacturer Automotive Placement Specialist to ensure a seamless and efficient enrollment process, fostering a positive experience for students as they transition into their academic journey.

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge/Education - Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, education, or business preferred. Knowledge of higher education. Superior customer service skills with excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills. Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and team-based project experience. Ability to engage and connect with diverse audiences, including students, families and school counselors. Ability to maintain confidentiality of student records. 

Experience – Five plus years of sales or recruiting experience preferred. Experience in automotive field, or background in education field is a plus.

License – A valid driver’s license is required and will be verified.

Purpose of the Role and Scope of Responsibility:

Ranken Technical College is currently seeking eligible applicants for the Lead Aviation Maintenance Instructor position. This new position will be available for Ranken’s Aviation Maintenance Program located in Perryville, Missouri. We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual to join our team and assist in building the foundation of our FAA Part 147 school. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aviation maintenance that allows him/her to teach and mentor our students effectively.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive maintenance curriculum and courses that meet FAA regulations and industry standards under Part 147.
  • Provide assessment, tracking of student attendance, and documenting records of students progress throughout the program.
  • Create engaging lesson plans, presentations, and hands-on activities to facilitate student learning.
  • Provide one-on-one guidance and support to students to ensure their success in the program

QUALIFICATIONS

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic certificate required.

  • Prior teaching or training experience preferred, but not required.

Purpose of the Role and Scope of Responsibility: Responsible for providing services to aid in student retention. Reaches out to students at all Ranken locations to help them realize their full potential by setting and achieving educational goals. Assists students to successfully work through personal issues to enable them to stay in school, graduate, and find employment in their chosen field. Promotes diversity awareness and inclusion on campus. This position reports to the Vice President for Diversity and Student Success.

Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Provides confidential personal counseling services to students as it relates to assisting students to maintain psychological well-being and balance in order to stay in school and achieve educational success. Conducts counseling sessions as needed within established office hours and is on call for emergency situations.
  • Responds to crisis situations, assesses risks, and implements strategies to address the issues.
  • Acts as a liaison with students seeing private therapists and provides case management to assist with student success.
  • Serves on committees as needed and takes an active role in recommending and implementing goals to increase student retention.
  • Attends student orientation, visits classrooms, and meets with student organizations to promote awareness and utilization of counseling services.
  • Periodically attends faculty department chair meetings and meets with Residential Life Director to determine areas where counseling assistance would be beneficial and advises on solutions to specific issues. Works with faculty and Residential Life Director as needed to implement agreed upon solutions.
  • Proactively contacts at-risk and probationary students to offer confidential counseling services to discuss personal issues that may interfere with college goals. Develops a personal and/or academic plan for success.
  • Provides information to students on issues such as eating disorders, depression, balancing school/work/life, and diversity. Information may be presented through e-mail blasts, posts to Inside Ranken, small-group workshops, and individual counseling sessions.
  • Promotes diversity awareness and the importance of inclusion on campus for ALL students, including minorities, females, veterans, and disabled students.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, career development, or related field required. Licensed professional counselor or licensed social worker preferred.
  • Three to five years of counseling experience required; experience counseling teens and young adults preferred.
  • Must be comfortable working in an academic setting which integrates instruction with student services, must be student focused, and must be able to work collaboratively with faculty and administrators to ensure successful student outcomes and retention.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with students.
  • Effective listening and communication skills; ability to deal with the needs of others in a compassionate, patient, and confidential manner.
